In this one minute video I explain an unmet medical need in respiratory medicine and how our rapid diagnostic test fulfils that need. For people with chronic respiratory conditions, there is an increased risk of getting a lung infection from the superbug Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
A common symptom of chronic respiratory conditions is an overproduction of mucus in the airways, leading to other symptoms like persistent coughing, wheezing, and difficulty breathing. The excess mucus can obstruct the airways and make it harder for the individual to breathe properly.
At nanodecal, we are developing a new generation of rapid diagnostic tests for precision respiratory medicine.
When this mucus originates from the lungs, it is called sputum. The analysis of sputum can provide valuable information for diagnosing respiratory diseases and infections. Our rapid test can analyse sputum and determine if Pseudomonas is present in the lung microbiota or not. This key piece of data allows for the early detection, and early detection is paramount to the treatment of Pseudomonas infections.
